Dates: May 28 - June 27, 2024
Monday - Thursday
8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Requirements to attend summer school:
Elementary - common assessment data/teacher recommendation
Junior High - Fail 2 core subjects
High School - Fail core class - credit recovery
Less than 90% attendance

Any Snyder ISD student who is required to attend summer school will not be allowed to attend any Snyder ISD sports camps or strength and conditioning programs that interfere with summer school. Strong students make successful athletes!

It’s CTE Signing Day at the Historic Paramount Theatre in Abilene! We are excited to share that two outstanding seniors from Snyder High School, Ariel Sifuentes and Chandler Tran, were selected to participate in an internship program with Cogdell Memorial Hospital and Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Eight Schools participated, sixty students were interviewed, and 33 were placed in internships. Under the guidance of Cogdell Memorial Hospital Lab Director Bill Dickinson, Ariel and Chandler gained valuable experience in the healthcare industry. We are proud of their accomplishment and wish them all the best for their future endeavors. Congratulations Ariel and Chandler! #snydertigers #CTE #PTECH

This past weekend nine students represented SHS at the UIL Regional Academic meet. Carlos Galindo placed 8th in Computer Science, Yasmin Thamez placed second in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and will be competing at the State meet in Austin next month, Elizabeth Smith placed 12th in Literary Criticism, Benjamin Kerr placed 11th in Science overall and 2nd in the Biology portion earning an Alternate spot for the State meet. He also competed in Calculator Applications.

Also representing SHS was Richee Sosa, competing in accounting; Rhys Grant, competing in Copy Editing; Modesto Estrada, competing in Headline Writing; Jaxon Angeley as alternate in Informative Speaking; and Shelby Powell, competing in Persuasive Speaking.

Congratulations to all those who competed, their coaches, and again to Yasmin and Benjamin who will represent SHS in Austin May 13th through 15th.

Mrs. Gillespie's Entrepreneurship I and II classes kicked off the Personal Financial Literacy unit today by playing the Game of Life. Students gained a better perspective of what's to come as they simulate a year of budgeting their income while trying to save $6000 and still enjoy a comfortable lifestyle.

This just in from Snyder Tiger Tennis: JV had a beautiful day for tennis yesterday! Our home tournament couldn’t have been better! We had 13 teams come to Snyder and compete and play tennis together! Jacob and Cindy placed 1st 🥇 in mixed doubles Beatrice and Rhea placed 3rd 🥉 in girls doubles Allison placed 4th in girls singles Aaron and Thalia placed 4th in mixed doubles Yahidra and Berenice placed 4th in girls doubles!! Next week is Abilene for both Varsity and JV and we are READY!! 🎾🎾🎾

💥 ALERT: Shattered Dreams Program Tuesday 💥 Parts of Towle Park will be closed on the morning of Tuesday, March 26th. Emergency responders will be in the area. Shattered Dreams teaches students about the dangers of drinking and driving. We want to thank all of those who have participated and made this event possible: Snyder Police Department, Scurry County Sheriff's Office, Department of Transportation, Scurry County EMS, Snyder Fire Department, TxDOT, Native Air, MHMR, County and District Courts, WTC. We also want to extend a special thanks to Snyder ISD SRO Rackley and all Snyder ISD students and staff who have worked hard to make this happen.
