One of our favorite events of the year is the Retired Teachers Luncheon—an opportunity to celebrate and honor individuals who have dedicated their lives to education. Guests received a warm welcome and were treated to a special performance by the SHS Pride of the West Band. They enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the SFE Food Services catering crew and were served by the SHS Student Council and NHS members. The SHS Floral Design classes created beautiful centerpieces and a special take-home arrangement for each guest, adding an extra touch to this meaningful gathering.

It’s always a wonderful time to reconnect, reminisce, and show appreciation for these incredible educators. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event memorable!

To try our best to get the season's final game for our junior high Tigers, we will modify the game schedule for tonight's season finale at Grant Teaff Tiger Stadium.

7th grade A Team District Championship will start at 5pm. 6-minute quarters. No halftime.

8th grade A Team will follow immediately after the 7th grade A game. 6-minute quarters.

7th grade B Team will follow immediately after the 8th grade game. 6-minute quarters. No halftime.

Our freshman game will be played at Brooks Middle School Football Field beginning at 5pm. This field is located just west and within walking distance of the high school stadium.

Our JV team will also start at 5pm and will be played at the high school stadium.

Mr. Gillespie’s Honors World History class! As part of their studies on the Middle Ages and the feudal system, students are diving into the strategic world of chess. This classic game provides an engaging way to explore historical themes, as each piece and movement in chess reflects the roles and hierarchies within medieval society.

By playing chess, students gain a hands-on understanding of social structure, strategy, and decision-making – key components of the feudal system that shaped the Middle Ages. This activity not only reinforces historical concepts but also helps students develop critical thinking skills in a fun and challenging way.

At Snyder Primary School, our second-grade dual language classes have actively engaged with the democratic process! Over the past few weeks, students have been learning about voting to make choices and decisions, highlighting the importance of elections. Each class nominated two candidates for class president, and on Election Day, students presented their voter identification cards and cast their ballots. We love seeing our educators bring fun and interactive lessons into the classroom, helping our students understand civic responsibility and the value of participating in elections!

Snyder ISD is now accepting referrals for students who may need Gifted/Talented Services for the school year. This program is designed for students who exhibit intellectual and creative thinking abilities at an extraordinary level not normally served in the regular classroom. Services are provided only upon identification of education needs of the student. Anyone wishing to refer a student attending Snyder ISD in kindergarten through twelfth grade this school year is asked to visit or go by the student’s campus office to request a copy of the referral form.

This form must be returned to the school by December 2, 2024. Those unable to go by the school should call the campus to request a form be sent to them.

The Snyder High School Drama Department is hosting their annual Spook House this Saturday. Doors open at 7 PM, and entry is just $5 for a night of frights and fun. Don’t miss this event support our talented students!

Snyder High School junior and senior Health Science students recently had the opportunity to attend the TSTC Health Fair and explore a variety of career opportunities in the medical field.

🚀 Exciting News from Snyder High School!
Students from Mr. Clark's class are participating in the Genes in Space competition! Recently, they began brainstorming to narrow down their experiment for submission. Their mission is to design groundbreaking experiments that solve real challenges in space travel and deep space exploration. From bacterial cell growth to the human immune system, they will tackle how life works differently in space.

Mrs. Hunter’s junior class of future educators recently attended Region 14’s Student Tutor Summit in Abilene. They collaborated with veteran teachers to gain valuable insights, tips, and tricks in preparation for their future careers. Each student earned 3 credit hours of training as part of this unique opportunity. We’re proud of their dedication to the teaching profession!

Today marked another productive day at Snyder ISD. Participants in monthly instructional rounds enjoyed seeing the great things our classroom teachers are accomplishing firsthand! The group at Snyder Primary visited over 20 classrooms, while other teams observed classrooms at both the Intermediate and Junior High Schools. Superintendent Rauch, Trustee Leatherwood, and members of the Cabinet also participated in rounds.

The instructional rounds process, modeled after the medical rounds approach, aims to foster collaboration and professional growth among educators across Snyder ISD. By observing classroom instruction and learning from one another, participants gather insights that help identify trends and guide instructional support. It also allows administrative staff, trustees, and others to see how their work impacts campus staff and students. These rounds are held monthly and contribute to improving student outcomes district-wide.

Snyder ISD teachers demonstrated their dedication to providing quality instruction, and we believe their efforts will greatly benefit students! Keep up the GREAT work!

This weekend, several volunteers from Evergreen - SISD Research and Retail Greenhouse and the Snyder Intermediate School STEAM Team participated in the Keep Snyder Beautiful Fall Sweep cleanup. Evergreen replanted all the pots around the square and at City Hall with fall foliage, while the STEAM Team helped clean up the pocket park and paint around the square. We appreciate the work that all of the volunteers put in to spruce up our community!

Tuesday was junior high night at the Lady Tiger Volleyball game. We can't wait to see what the future holds for these talented student-athletes! Go Tigers!

This past Saturday, the Snyder High School Speech and Debate team took five students to Borger to compete at the Boomtown Classic. Carson Posey placed third in Congress, Kyle Beights placed top 4 in Lincoln-Douglas Debate by making it to the semifinals, and Jaxon Angeley advanced to semifinals in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking. "This was our first in person tournament of the year and, overall, it went really well! It was a solid kickoff for what should shape up to be a great season for our team," said Speech and Debate Coach Adalberto Jaimes. #snydertigers

Last week, Snyder Independent School District National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and Advanced Culinary Arts students represented us well (by waiting tables and working in the kitchen) at the Snyder Lions Club 100th Anniversary event. Great job, Tigers! 🙌🏼🖤🌟

If you are NEW to Snyder ISD, welcome to the Tiger Family! We hope to make the enrollment and registration process as easy as possible. Here are some steps you can take now to get set for the school year.

1️⃣ New Student Enrollment - Open Now!
Students who were not enrolled in a Snyder ISD school at the close of the 23-24 school year are considered new students. You can begin the enrollment process online or visit the school your child will be attending anytime Monday through Thursday between 8 am - 3:30 pm. Please have the necessary paperwork on hand ( www.snyderisd.net/welcome) so we can have a successful enrollment process!

2️⃣ Online Registration Verification for All Students - Opens July 15th
This is required for all students (new and returning) and will open in Skyward on July 15th. We will release more information as the date approaches.

3️⃣ Back to School HQ
For Back to School resources, visit our Back to School HQ! You will find school supply lists, start & release times, dress codes, calendars, and more. www.snyderisd.net/backtoschool.

Congratulations to SHS graduates Tymrie Collier and Whitley Anderson! Tymrie landed a $20,000 scholarship from the Houston Livestock Show, and Rodeo and Whitley scored a $20,000 scholarship from the San Antonio Livestock Show, both through Texas FFA. Tymrie and Whitley showcased their successful FFA careers, including LDE (Leadership Development Events) and CDE (Career Development Events), through rigorous application and interview processes. Dates: May 28 - June 27
Monday - Thursday
8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Requirements to attend summer school:
Elementary - common assessment data, less than 90% attendance, or teacher recommendation
Junior High - Fail 2 core subjects or less than 90% attendance
High School - Fail core class - credit recovery
Less than 90% attendance

If you did not get a confirmation from the transportation department and your child needs to ride the bus, please make arrangements for the first day of school and call them at 325-574-8950 on Tuesday morning.
Any Snyder ISD student who is required to attend summer school will not be allowed to attend any Snyder ISD sports camps or strength and conditioning programs that interfere with summer school. Strong students make successful athletes!
