Administrative staff at Snyder High School were alerted to a possible threat to a student at Snyder High School. Another student promptly alerted us of the situation, and the Assistant Principal contacted the police. Police responded swiftly and have the individual in custody. The individual in question is not an SHS student and was not on campus. Students and staff are safe. We will have an increased police presence on campuses this week for reassurance. There is no indication of an additional threat.
We will continue to work with the authorities in any investigation. We want to commend the student who came forward and our local police department for their prompt response. We encourage anyone who has a safety or security concern to immediately contact the school or call 911.
