District Update

September 25, 2023 -- Earlier today, students reported to a staff member that a classmate made threats of violence and might have a gun. School Resource Officers Rackley and Cartner responded promptly and conducted a thorough search of the student and their belongings. Fortunately, no weapon was found, and all students were safe.

Although we cannot disclose the specific disciplinary action taken for confidentiality reasons, we want to emphasize that threats of violence will not be tolerated. The district adheres to established District and State policies and procedures and works closely with local law enforcement to resolve incidents of this nature.

We commend the students who reported the situation to a staff member for their responsibility and bravery. We encourage anyone with information regarding the safety of our students or schools to report any concerns immediately to a school district official or local law enforcement. If you have non-emergency concerns, please submit an anonymous form on the Snyder ISD website https://www.snyderisd.net/page/safety-security.

As a community, we must work together to keep our schools safe. Our children are our most valuable treasure, and we appreciate your continued cooperation and vigilance. For more information on our Standard Response Protocol, please visit https://www.snyderisd.net/page/safety-security.
